Mr. Flippo is a Vice President and Counsel, Private Funds (Secondaries) in the Ares Legal Department. Prior to joining Ares in 2023, he was a Private Funds Transactional Attorney at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, where he focused on GP-led secondary transactions, co-investments and other hybrid fund, mergers and acquisitions transactions. Previously, Mr. Flippo was an Associate at Proskauer Rose LLP, where he focused on the representation of private equity funds and venture capital funds in mergers and acquisitions and financing transactions. Mr. Flippo holds a B.A., summa cum laude, from Georgia State University in German and a J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Boston University Law Review.
