Mr. Borges is a Partner and Chairman of the Ares Secondaries Group. He also serves as a member of the Ares Secondaries Group's Private Equity, Infrastructure, Credit and Real Estate Investment Committees. Prior to joining Ares in 2021, Mr. Borges was Chairman and Managing Partner of Landmark, where he directed Landmark's strategic planning and investment activities. During his tenure, Landmark grew and expanded its investor base and secondary market activities globally and across asset types. Previously, Mr. Borges was Managing Director of GE Capital's Financial Guaranty Insurance Company and Capital Markets subsidiaries. In addition, he was Treasurer of the State of Connecticut, Deputy Mayor of the City of Hartford, and Legal Counsel for the Travelers Insurance Companies. Mr. Borges serves as a member of the boards of directors for the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and the Hartford HealthCare Corporation. Mr. Borges holds a B.A. from Trinity College (Hartford) in Political Science and a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law.
