James McConnell

Mr. McConnell is an Advisory Partner in the Ares Secondaries Group, where he focuses on private equity secondaries. He also serves as a member of the Landmark Private Equity Secondaries Investment Committee. Prior to joining Ares in 2021, he was a Senior Advisor to the Landmark Partners Private Equity Group, where he provided advice and guidance to the private equity group and was a member of the investment committees of Landmark Equity Partners XIII, XIV and XV. Additionally, Mr. McConnell was a Partner at Landmark Partners with leadership responsibility for transaction origination, underwriting and negotiation in the secondary private equity business. He also oversaw the firm's primary and co-investment programs. Previously, Mr. McConnell was a Senior Accountant with Arthur Andersen LLP. He served on the advisory boards of Ascent Ventures and Apple Tree Partners. Mr. McConnell holds a B.S. from Merrimack College in Accounting.
