Dr. Judy D. Olian

Dr. Olian is a Director of Ares Management Corporation. Since 2018 Dr. Olian served as the President of Quinnipiac University. Previously, Dr. Olian served as dean of the UCLA Anderson School of Management and the John E. Anderson Chair in Management from January 2006 to July 2018. Prior to her tenure at UCLA, Dr. Olian served as dean and professor of management at the Smeal College of Business Administration at Pennsylvania State University. Earlier, she served in various faculty and executive roles at the University of Maryland and its Robert H. Smith School of Business. Her business expertise centers on aligning organizations' design with market opportunities, developing strategically aligned human resource systems and incentives, and managing top management teams. Dr. Olian serves as a member of the Business Higher Education Forum and the New Haven Promise (a nonprofit board), which works with low income children in the community. Dr. Olian also serves on the boards of directors of United Therapeutics Corporation and Mattel Corporation, and in the not-for-profit sector, Hartford HealthCare and the Knight Commission for Collegiate Athletics. She chairs the Division I Metro-Atlantic Athletic Conference and was appointed by the Governor of Connecticut to co-chair AdvanceCT, attracting and retaining businesses into Connecticut. Dr. Olian received her B.S. in Psychology from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem and her M.S. and Ph.D. in Industrial Relations from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
