Mr. Mason is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager in the Ares Credit Group, where he focuses on alternative credit investments. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Ares Credit Group's Pathfinder Core Investment Committee. Prior to joining Ares in 2019, Mr. Mason was a Senior Managing Director and Head of Liquid Real Estate Debt at Blackstone, where he was responsible for all aspects of the business, including investment decisions, operations, fundraising, marketing and business development. Previously, Mr. Mason was a Managing Director at UBS, where he was responsible for a CMBS proprietary investing platform. Additionally, Mr. Mason was a Director at Merrill Lynch, where he was a Senior Secondary CMBS Trader. Mr. Mason holds a B.A, from Amherst College in Economics.
