Mr. Schmitz is a Managing Director in Ares Real Estate, where he focuses on European real estate equity. Prior to joining Ares in 2016, Mr. Schmitz was an Associate at Starwood Capital Group, where he focused on European real estate. Previously, Mr. Schmitz was an Associate at Rothschild & Co, where he focused on real estate mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Schmitz holds a B.Sc. from the London School of Economics in Economics and Philosophy and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
