Managing Director
Mr. Johnson is a Managing Director in Ares Real Estate, where he focuses on U.S. multi-family and residential equity development management. Prior to joining Ares in 2025, Mr. Johnson was a Regional President and Senior Managing Director at Quarterra Multifamily, a subsidiary of Lennar Corporation, where he focused on sourcing and developing multifamily assets in the central United States (Midwest, Mountain States, Southwest and Texas). Previously, Mr. Johnson was a Managing Director at Mill Creek Residential Trust and Trammell Crow Residential, where he focused on the development of multifamily assets in the Mountain States. He currently serves on the NAHB Multifamily Leadership Board, is Chairman of ULI Colorado Multifamily Product Council, and serves on the International Advisory Board of the University of Colorado Klump Real Estate Center. Mr. Johnson holds a B.A. from the University of Virginia in Anthropology and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado, Boulder in Real Estate and Finance.
