Ms. Sommers is a Managing Director and Associate General Counsel (Real Estate) in the Ares Legal Department. Prior to joining Ares in 2021, Ms. Sommers was Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel - Real Estate Transactions at Black Creek Group, where she oversaw and provided strategic guidance on real estate acquisitions, dispositions, financings and the firm's syndicated 1031 program. Previously, Ms. Sommers was a Shareholder at Otten, Johnson, Robinson, Neff + Ragonetti PC, where she represented clients on a wide array of commercial real estate transactions. Ms. Sommers holds a B.A. from Northwestern University in Political Science and International Studies and a J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School.
