Mr. Weld is a Partner in the Ares Global Client Solutions Group, where he focuses on institutional client management in North America. Prior to joining Ares in 2016, Mr. Weld was a Managing Director in the debt advisory group at JMP Securities LLC, where he focused on debt capital markets coverage, sourcing debt advisory assignments and structuring and executing debt capital raises for clients across several industries. Previously, Mr. Weld worked at Deutsche Bank Securities, where he oversaw direct equity investments, as well as investments in non-investment grade debt and asset-backed securities. In addition, he was a Managing Director at Stephens, Inc. where he led the financial sponsor coverage team and was a Managing Director at Royal Bank of Canada, where he focused on private credit. He currently serves on the investment committees of both the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Family Foundation and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. He previously served as an independent member of the Ivy Hill Asset Management Investment Committee. Mr. Weld holds a B.A. from Tufts University in History and an M.S.M. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management.
