Mr. Weld is a Managing Director in the Ares Global Client Solutions Group, where he focuses on institutional client management in North America. Prior to joining Ares in 2016, Mr. Weld was a Managing Director in the debt advisory group at JMP Securities LLC, where he focused on debt capital markets coverage, sourcing debt advisory assignments and structuring and executing debt capital raises for clients across several industries. Previously, Mr. Weld was a Director in the special situations group of Deutsche Bank Securities, where he oversaw direct equity investments, as well as investments in senior loans, subordinated debt and asset-backed securities. In addition, he was a Managing Director at Stephens, Inc. where he led the financial sponsor coverage team and was a Managing Director at Royal Bank of Canada, where he focused on leveraged capital finance. He serves on the investment committee of the Muriel McBrien Kauffman Foundation and previously served as an independent member of the Ivy Hill Asset Management Investment Committee. Mr. Weld holds a B.A. from Tufts University in History and an M.S.M. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Sloan School of Management.
