Mr. McGonagle is a Partner in Ares Real Estate, where he focuses on U.S. industrial real estate equity portfolio management. Prior to joining Ares in 2021, he was a Senior Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager of Black Creek Industrial Fund LP, an investment platform sponsored by Black Creek Group. As Senior Portfolio Manager for Black Creek Industrial Fund LP, he oversaw the platform's operations, strategy, due diligence and dispositions. Previously, Mr. McGonagle was a consultant for several corporate clients, including as a director and chairman of the board for Pinnacle Gas Resources, Inc., an independent energy company. In addition, Mr. McGonagle served in multiple leadership roles including Senior Vice President, Corporate Development at MacDermid Inc., Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Vistar Corporation, Managing Director and Co-Head of U.S. Merchant Banking Group at Babcock & Brown LP and Managing Director of the Financial Sponsors Group of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette / Credit Suisse. Between 2006 and January 2012, Mr. McGonagle served on the board of directors and chairman of the audit committee for Consolidated Container Company, LLC, a leading plastic packaging developer and manufacturer. Currently, he serves on the Board of Directors for the Children's Hospital Colorado Foundation, Buell Foundation and the Kent Denver School Board of Trustees. Additionally, he is an active member of Urban Land Institute (ULI), holding a variety of council positions. Mr. McGonagle holds a B.A. from Dartmouth College in Economics and an M.B.A. from Dartmouth College Tuck School of Business.
