Mr. Yang is a Partner in Ares Asia, where he focuses on credit. Prior to joining Ares in 2020, Mr. Yang was a Managing Director and the Head of China for the SSG Group since 2019. Previously, Mr. Yang was Chairman and CEO of the Greater China region at Nomura and Lehman Brothers and was a member of their respective Asia Executive Management Committees, as well as a member of the Global Investment Banking Executive Committee at Nomura. In addition, Mr. Yang was a Managing Director and Head of China Corporate Finance at Morgan Stanley and was an Associate Director at Deutsche Morgan Granfell Asia, where he focused on corporate finance. Mr. Yang began his career as an Associate at Goldman Sachs. Mr. Yang holds a B.Eng. in Architecture and an M.Eng. from Tsinghua University. Mr. Yang also holds an M.Sc. in Real Estate Development and an M.Sc. in City Planning from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
