At Ares, we support our local communities and nonprofit organizations through firmwide volunteering, matching donations, and voluntary board service.
Launched 2012 Ares in Motion ("AIM") is our signature employee engagement program through which we design and deliver skills- and service-based volunteer opportunities so that our employees can give back to the communities where we operate. It also offers a platform through which the firm matches employees' donations for charitable causes. When we give back as a firm, we witness the benefits firsthand in our team members, the companies in which we invest, our industry, and those who live and work in the communities where we operate.
Regional committees organize, plan, and champion skills-and-service-based volunteer opportunities throughout the year including our annual “Summer of Service” - a marathon of transformation volunteering. The volunteer engagements include coaching students through entrepreneurial pitch competitions, beautifying parks, beaches, and urban spaces, mentoring young women across Asia, cooking and serving food to people in need, and providing pro bono assistance to underserved communities.
Ares employees are offered and participate in a variety of volunteer and community engagement opportunities throughout the year. Team members are encouraged to join regional committees to plan, organize and champion volunteer events in their local communities.
Nonprofit Board Training and Placement
We build the capacity of our employees to impact their communities by training and placing them to serve on nonprofit organization boards. Employees learn the fundamental skills necessary to impact the nonprofit's missions and translate those learnings into the workplace.
Employees are encouraged to donate to the causes that are most meaningful to them and amplify their impact through a dollar-for-dollar company match.
In 2022, the Ares Team came together in a big way to support the needs of our communities through donor support, volunteering and awareness - below are the highlights.
